In 1902, Frank and George Austin began the fabrication and installation of
iron truss bridges across Texas and Georgia, advancing the transportation
infrastructure to meet the new demands of automobiles. Charles R. Moore, a manager
of the Austin Brothers Bridge Company, purchased the contracting portion of the
company in 1918, modifying the name to Austin Bridge Company. Adapting to economic
conditions and social change Austin Industries is still growing and in business
today.
We present to you this wonderful, 280 page catalog, representing a diverse
array of road building and construction equipment. More than just a catalog, this
was a brief handbook of road and bridge building, with a huge section of charts,
diagrams and data on bridge construction.
