Includes a circa 1800's Majestic Stove Catalog. A very rare and unusual 100 page catalog full of beautiful graphics of Majestic Stoves. In addition to stoves, every other page contains lots of easy to follow recipes - many different varities of breads, cakes, meat dishes and meat pies, egg dishes, soups, puddings and more. And of course the MAIN ingredient in every recipe is, what else? a Majestic cook stove or range..... :) At a guess there are about 400+ recipes, any of which could still be cooked today using modern cooking methods.
The Majestic company was famous for its popular and extensive line of commercial and home cooking stoves. At the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, the company’s exhibition of its Majestic Stoves was one of the event’s more popular attractions.
You also receive a circa 1900's Majestic Stove Cook Book and Catalog. A very rare and unusual 85 page catalog full of beautiful graphics of Majestic Stoves, pages of user testimonials, how to setup and arrange your kitchen in relationship to the home water supply. Why? Because the range could be used to heat water for bathing.
This catalog provides a VERY interesting read, and is one of our favorite stove republications. The second half of the catalog is the cook book. About 25 pages of VERY brief cooking instructions for all sorts of food items. If the recipes are followed, no reason why the would not provide very quick and easy (and delicious) meals even today. Recipes for Breads, Cakes, Pies, Sauces, Cordials, Soups, Dumplings, Stews and Meat Dishes, Oysters, Vegatables, Dressings, Vegtables, Pickles, Puddings and more. If you like good, simple food, the cook book provides a wide variety of easy to prepare meals.
The last few pages include information on Uses of salt, and loads of cleaning & housekeeping tips.
