Both include not only machines, but an extensive parts listing and wonderful woodcut illustrations of the companies machinery in everyday farm use.

Also included a Circa 1900 Walter Woods Mowing and Reaping Machine catalog, 44 richly illustrated pages showing vintage cutters in action, the benefits of Walter Woods Machinery, operating tips, etc. a 64 page - 1915 walter A Woods Reaping and Mowing Machinery catalog, and a 1929 - 32 page catalog illustrating the companies later years and there move to threshing and other farm machinery.

Walter A. Wood, the founder of these works [Walter A. Wood Mowing and Reaping Machine Manufactory], was born in Mason, N. H., Oct. 23, 1815, and came to Hoosick Falls in 1836. He was a blacksmith by trade and originally worked at that trade. In 1853 he obtained a patent for the mower that has ever since born his name. In 1854 Wood commenced in a small way the manufacture of his machines, continuing to increase his works as the demand increased.
